Most people who lose life-changing amounts to crypto scams are not the ones reading a site like this. They are someone's mother or father, being walked through a "safe investment" by a stranger who sounds patient and professional. In 2025, people reported losing more than $388 million in scams involving crypto ATMs and kiosks. People age 60 and older reported about $257 million of those losses (FBI IC3).

You can be the person they check with. Paste the message they were sent, or send them a link and let them check it themselves — both are free.

  • They were contacted first — by text, WhatsApp, Telegram, a dating app or a wrong number.
  • They were told to move money quickly, quietly, or without telling the bank.
