What this site is (and isn't)
WasCryptoScammed is an informational tool. It combines community-submitted reports with automated risk signals to help you spot warning signs before sending money. We are not a law firm, financial advisor, regulator, or law enforcement agency, and nothing on this site is legal or financial advice. Always do your own research and, for big decisions, talk to a licensed professional.
What a risk score means
Risk scores are automated, informational estimates based on community reports and common scam warning signs. A score is an opinion-based signal, not a finding of fact. A high score does not prove a company or person committed fraud, and a low score does not guarantee something is safe. Scores can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated. Never rely on a score alone to make a financial decision.
Community reports and stories
- Reports and stories are written by members of the public. They are personal accounts and allegations. We do not independently verify, investigate, or adjudicate them.
- Submissions are reviewed by moderators before appearing publicly, but moderation is about safety and quality — it is not fact-checking or proof.
- The Crypto Fraud casebook is different: it only summarises public records such as criminal charges, convictions, and regulatory actions, with sources.
If you submit content, you agree that
- What you write is true to the best of your knowledge and describes your own experience.
- You will not include passwords, private keys, seed phrases, full card numbers, government ID numbers, or other people's private information.
- You will not post content that is knowingly false, harassing, threatening, or intended to harm a person or business without a genuine basis.
- You give us permission to display your submission publicly and to edit or remove it for safety, clarity, or legal reasons.
- You are responsible for what you submit.
Removal requests
If you believe content on this site is false, defamatory, or includes your private information, email Support@wascryptoscammed.com with the page link and details. We review good-faith removal requests and may correct, label, or remove content.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the site: no scraping at abusive volumes, no attempting to access other users' data, no spam submissions, and no using the site to harass anyone. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
No guarantees
We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but it is provided "as is." We do not guarantee the site will always be online, error-free, or that it will catch every scam. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of — or reliance on — this site.
Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the new terms.
